Hemorrhoids and Hemorrhoid Treatment
I don’t have to tell you how painful, uncomfortable and embarrassing hemorrhoids are. Defined as the swelling of veins in the rectum and anus, the irritating, itching and burning feeling can last for days or even longer in severe cases. The time for treatment is now.
Symptoms Of Hemorrhoids
Fortunately hemorrhoids usually isn’t a life threatening condition, though it can be painful and very uncomfortable. The most common symptom of hemorrhoids is leaving blood on toilet paper whilst having a bowel movement, and/or in the toilet bowl or on the seat. During more serious forms of an internal hemorrhoids, the irritation may protrude outside of the anus. There could also be a hard lump around the anus, resulting from a hemorrhoid’s blood clot. Excessive straining or wiping could also cause serious irritation, itching and bleeding.
Causes Of Hemorrhoids
The most common cause of hemorrhoids is straining while going to the bathroom. Obviously this happens usually because of constipation, and can be much worse in women especially during menstruation periods. It can happen at any time though, straining for any reason cause cause a flair up under the right conditions.
Treatment For Hemorrhoids
Obviously prevention is the best method of treatment, though if it’s too late there are some natural cures and treatments that have been known to work. First and foremost, put an icepack on the inflamed area for 10-15 minutes. This will help with the itching and swelling. Try using Neosporin ointment around the irritated areas, and if a hemorrhoid pops out you can pop it back it after applying the cream. Eating a diet high in fiber can also help to reduce the straining while you’re healing up.
