What are Thrombosed Hemorrhoids? | Hemmeroids

Before defining what  thrombosed hemorrhoids is, lets discuss how we got here. In this generation, life has become very fast and the life’s phase keeps changing from time to time – this is the reason why there are a lot of people who are already forgetting to live a healthy life.

Living a healthy lifestyle is one way for a person to have a healthy body and a happy mindset. It is very important for a person to have proper diet, exercise and healthy living so that the human body will be prevented from any diseases.

One very common example of the sickness that a person may get with unhealthy lifestyle and stress is high blood pressure and hypertension which are very rampant these days. If a person is stressed out and the body lacks rest as well as healthy foods and enough exercise, the body tends to react negatively causing some diseases or bad health conditions like high blood pressure and hypertension. Moreover, having these can result to another condition that a person might find it hard to handle – hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids are described as the swelling of the anal veins inside or outside the lower rectum and this can give pain, itch, and even bleeding on the said part. Like any other bad health conditions hemorrhoids should also be treated at once to prevent the spread of infection and to prevent the worsening of the infection on the affected area.

In the lower rectum or what is being called as anus there are different group of veins that can be found on it and those are located inside and outside the anus. Because of low-fiber diet or having unhealthy foods, obesity, cirrhosis, aging, pregnancy, anal intercourse, diarrhea or chronic constipation, and straining to move the stool, the group of veins in the
anus are affected.

There are two types of hemorrhoids and those are external and internal hemorrhoids; from the terms it signifies the difference between the two – internal hemorrhoids are found inside the anus and the external hemorrhoids are found outside the lower rectum. Another difference is that internal hemorrhoids are not that painful since the veins affected don’t have pain receptors however, the external hemorrhoids are painful and more exposed to bacteria since they are located outside the anus.

External hemorrhoids can also develop another type of hemorrhoid called thrombosed hemorrhoids – this is caused by pools of blood that is formed and coagulated under the skin. The pools of blood are formed when the flow of blood happens to be restricted in the anal veins that causes the vessels to split.

Thrombosed hemorrhoids are unlike internal hemorrhoids that are hard to detect since in this type of external hemorrhoid, can be easily felt and seen. This type of hemorrhoid is also called skin tag since this is like a lump that feels like a mass of small skin; it can either be hard or soft. This hemorrhoid is strangled under the skin and with this there is not enough blood to flow on it that is why it is bluish if you’ll look at it however, if irritated and swollen, it can become red.
